The materials I used were all from my fabric stash: burlap, linen, old towels, an old bed skirt, and yarn.
This would be so perfect for a little girl's room. I kept the fabric pattern colors light and playful.
I love the look of handmade stitches. They are imperfect, childlike and whimsical.
And the frayed edges of the fabric give it just the right texture.
I am loving the swirly blue sky and green grass too.
I hope someone likes this enough to bid on it!
Do YOU like it?
(be gentle)
Off to sew and create some more!
I love it! I bet you get more bids than you think you will. It turned out fabulous :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! I'm so glad to see there's a bird in the tree :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jessica! I just left a comment on Libbie's blog about her baby at the exact same time that you did. Then I noticed that we said almost the exact same thing! How could I not, then, come and see your blog??? ;)
ReplyDeleteWow, this fabric art piece is fantastic! I have never seen anything like it! Too cute ... I am SO not a crafter anymore, but I can appreciate all the effort of the "new" generation of crafters!
Oh my gosh! I love this and it would go perfectly in my daughter's room when I get it finished. I might have to see if the hubster would let me place a special order once we get done painting and all. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love it!! I can't wait to see your Etsy shop all stocked!
ReplyDeleteSeriously this is so darn cute!
ReplyDeleteThat is so lovely - what a great idea! I absolutely love it! So cute!

Jess - This turned out so great! I love the look of handmade fiber art as well . . . the winner of this one is going to be a lucky one. :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! Soft and beautiful! I'm sure it will get lots of bids!
ReplyDeleteI LOOOOOOVE it my friend...stunning.
ReplyDeleteso cute! I love making stuff like this! can't wait to see your etsy shop!
ReplyDeleteI really like it too! I think that you should make that bird kinda like a personal signature piece on all your stuff. For your loyal customers it might be fun to find "your bird"
ReplyDeleteOk, I hope this doesn't offend you, but I always want brutal honesty from my friends so if I may be perfectly honest, the only thing I don't care for on this piece is the clouds. They seem out of place to me. I LOVE the blue sky and the sun, but the clouds seem like an afterthought. Maybe if you added some stiching to them.
By far, I am not as creative as you...just looking at it as if I was a consumer. Just one person's opinion. Keep crafting though girl, cuz I am always excited to see what you come up with next!!
That is precious! I'd definitely bid on it!
ReplyDeleteI like it very much! It reminds me of the Samplers of yesteryear. Those are still "in" I believe.
ReplyDeleteGood job!!!
Thanks for sharing!
Jess, that is BEAUTIFUL!! And I can see a boy version with little monkeys and blues and greens!! Hmm... Or pottery barnish animals (like the ones in my kids bathroom??). I miss u. Love, Jenn N
ReplyDeleteand you thought people might not like it?! it's amazing! i just redecorated the kids' room (pics on my blog), and i so need to commission you to do a fabric wall hanging to match their love and nature theme! i know you'd go crazy awesome with it.
ReplyDeletenot to pressure you or anything, but you seriously need to open that etsy shop soon. i'm itching to buy some stuff.
I LOVE it!!! This is so adorable, and I'm positive that MANY people at the auction will love it too! :) I hope you are having a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteSeriously! You never quit! Do you dream these fabulous ideas when you sleep?! I honestly think you need not only to open an Etsy store but to have your own line! I wish I knew how to get you one! You would be selling these things faster than hotcakes! I can see it now & I am REALLY not joking around.
ReplyDeleteI am still thinking of those 9 cups of coffee you drank & am insanely jealous...What I wouldn't give for just one :) But I don't want to wake up Roo with any caffine :) ...I still have more reading up to do but Rock is bringing me food so I better feed him :)
Nope, don't like it, I LOVE it! I just know it will get loads of bids at your silent auction. Wish I were going, I would bid on it. Lib and I would have a bidding war over that baby! Still need to make that corsage for our mom. I don't know how Lib finds time to have a new baby and blog at the same time. I couldn't do it!
ReplyDeleteKate
