Just so you know, I keep falling asleep as I type this. Too funny.
So the arm. Yesterday I had surgery to put a metal plate in (kind of like a bracket) to hold the bone in place. This helps it to heal faster too. They were hoping not to go that route but this was a pretty bad break and the only solution. It went great and now I'm officially on the mend.
Last night was a little tough with all the pain but I woke up feeling pretty good. I'm trying to only take pain medication as needed because it makes me so loopy and sleepy. My Ella climbed into bed with me last night and held my good arm like a teddy bear the entire time which is so unlike her.It was so precious...it reminded me that these innocent little hearts need reassuring that their Mommy is ok and they still need some snuggles and hugs so that all is right with their world. And my incredible, gentle, and sweet husband is taking such good care of me and there is no on else who could give me better care. I love and appreciate him. And wasn't his post just the cutest?
I'm kinda sad that it will be awhile until I can post an actual craft again, but I knew I could come up with a photo collage of my favorite projects of 2011. A wireless mouse and laptop make life easy for this newly left-handed girl, :)
Here are my personal favorites:

ReplyDeleteSo glad you're doing better! Your year of posts have been so creative and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh Jess I hate thinking of you spending the day getting a plate put in your arm. I ended up texting Brandon while you were in surgery & I kept praying! It is always weird to me how life goes on for everyone while people are in the hospital....I just hate that & I hated that my life was just going on (well actually I am really glad it was going on) but I just wished that I could have stopped & taken time out to watch the kids or make you dinner! Soooo thankful you have your crew to love you up & I know that you are so supported & adored down there in FL. I am rambling now from staying up way too late but I do ned to know....what color is your cast?
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear you are on the mend... And that the Surgery went well... I pray that the healing process is easy for you... So SO SO thankful that it is only your arm.. Have a blessed day!! and Wonderful New Year!!
ReplyDeleteThe good news is using your left hand with the mouse exercises your brain, so at least you are getting in some activity:)
ReplyDeleteShauna, both your comments these last few days have made me laugh out loud. you totally rock and made me smile! thank you my friend!
ReplyDeleteHang in there girl!! I don't know that I would even be attempting to blog at this point, so kuddos to you for trucking along!! I loved all of your projects this year & so glad that I found your blog! Not only is your site inspiring, but I have found a new friend in you!! Thank you for all the support you've shown me this year! I've been praying for you & will continue to do so!!
ReplyDeleteDid I mention that I've broken my arms 3 times?! (I was sort of a clumsy child!) Just something else we have in common!! :)
What a way to start the new year! I am so glad that you are not hurt worse. But oh my- that is really, really bad! Prayers for quick healing. I know you will be itching to get crafting again soon. Your 'end of year' wrap up is beautiful- I can't wait to see what you create in 2012. Hugs to you!

Hi Jessica, so sorry you had to bring in the New Year with a broken arm! Your husband's post was adorable! He is a keeper :-). I came over from Andrea at The Cottage Market.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower now. Take care.
Mandy

ReplyDeleteOn another note, im so so sorry about your arm..im happyy your on the mend though! I hope youll be your right handed self sooner than later.
Your little girl is darling for being so cuddly, I bet you just loved that!
I recently found your blog and it has quickly become one of mt favorites. Heal well and fast. In the meantime I will happily read all the posts I have been missing!
ReplyDeleteLinda
Oh my goodness!! I had no idea that you had injured yourself!! Take care and heal quickly! Praying for you!
ReplyDeleteJust coming over to send you "Get Well Hugs" and thoughts.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you know me, I am so not a hugger. So, so, so not a hugger...
Just ask Lib.
K, Now that it has been firmly established that I am just as loopy as your are, and I am NOT on any pain meds, I will gracefully take my leave.
Kate
OOPS, just fell down the stairs. Dang, so thought I could nail that one.
And, just stalking on Lib's comment.
ReplyDeleteNo offense to her, but you are kind of lucky that she doesn't actually live closer so she could have run over to make you dinner.
Take her up on the babysitting.
And to Lib, you so know you still love me. (But actually, totally awesome food on New Year's Eve. And with Kelly around, who needs to cook?)
A lovely montage of Jessica's crafty and creative life! ♥
ReplyDeleteI've made braided coasters before! I'm always doing something with fabric- except sewing! I'm going to have to dig back through your archives and see what I missed out on before I started reading your blog!
I was praying for you last night when I vaguely remembered that I glimpsed another title to a post from you in my reader so I dug it up this morning to see how you're doing.
I'm so glad you're able to use your lap top. I know it must be awkward but I know you thank God for the small things that make life more sweet! things like lap tops and teddy bear cuddles and kind hubbys.
I wish I could be there to help but since I can't, I hope you have someone near you who can. My hubby comes on strong with help and then quickly fades. I think it freaks him out when I'm down. He means so well but there's just some things that only a woman with experience can manage well.
Well, enjoy counting your blessings but don't get too loopy! Hee-hee! ♥
I am so tickled to have found you this bright cool morning! And can't wait to come back and see what your new arm can whip up!
ReplyDeleteI have just found your blog and I LOVE IT!! So sorry about your arm. You sound like me; I am always trying to do things that I would be better off letting hubby do, but when he is at work and I really want it done, well, you know. And considering the fact that I am not very graceful, I am surprised I have only had knots and bruises.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon. Just sit back and let others take care of you and just think about all the crafty plans that you can create when you are all better. Try not to get frustrated and take this time to pamper yourself.

oh, for Heaven's sake! i just read about your arm. glad it wasn't worse! hope you are feeling better very soon. can't imagine what it must've been like to fall like that....sending prayers and hugs your way.
ReplyDeleteHoly Schmoly, Jess!! I am so sorry to hear this. I miss you sweet girl and wish I was there to help out. You are in my prayers and heart.
ReplyDeleteHello, tonight is the first time I visited your blog and I got here from a series of different blogs! God led me here. Because I started reading your posts. I read the first one on a craft project that another blog linked back here. I then read all the 4th of July posts, then Valentine Day posts, then Christmas and then at the last Christmas post I hit older posts which took me to Thanksgiving, the laterns for your Christmas tea and then to the post where you shared your testimony! I am a Christian, I am a Believer, I am a child of God, Jesus is my Saviour, but I have not been faithful in my service to Him! I was hurt beyond words by some members of my church and it has tainted my life. The devil has used that to keep me bitter! I am also in constant physical pain due to 6 back surgeries since 2006. I can no longer work because of the pain and the amount of pain medication that I am on. Some days it hurts to move at all. I had my last surgery on December 7, 2011. My last hope of some relief without drugs is a nerve stimulator. I have had nothing but issues since the surgery and have not been able to use it like it is suppose to be used. Anyways, I wanted to thank you for sharing your testimony. Because I am now kinda like the girl you were.I am praying that God will help me to change and be the happy person that I once was. I served Him in my church and in our community. I miss that and I realized why reading your testimony that the Devil is the only winner in my continued bitterness and my not willing to let it go and get over it!!! My husband and I worked in our church (we were not paid staff) and we were there everytime the doors opened. We lived 3 minutes from the church so if the alarm went off in the middle of the night we heard it and responded, people knew they could call and we would be there. So when we were so hurt and stopped going to church that was our life everything changed. Thank you again and please pray for me!! God Bless you and thank you again!

O.k. I’m so behind it’s ridiculous. I just saw this post was from a week ago!!! And I also just noticed your adorable “winter 2012” header. Oh-so-cute!
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing to be doing anything with your left hand! I’m always trying to force myself to use it more often because I wear my right hand out on the computer…Maybe I should break my right hand and then I’ll have to use my left? =) Um, no. Hehe.
I LOVE all the collages you put together of your posts! You’re like a craft magazine in human form. Like a craft magazine on CRACK. Ha! I just love that word...crack...=)
Know that even though I’m weeks behind and that by the time you get this you might be doing hand-stands while sewing, you’re in my prayers and in my heart! I love you!
I am dying over that Heart Garland! So easy and dang cute! Thanks for stopping by Over the Big Moon and leaving a comment! Have a great night!
