A Happy Mommy's Day at the Beach!

I got to spend this fabulous Mother's Day at the beach with my family.
We played in the water, dug in the sand, and collected seashells.
We ate lunch at Frenchy's.
(if you ever visit Clearwater is a must "go to" place.  We go lots!)
Spilled some lemonade, I ate some grouper nuggets, and listened to a cover band play some Bob Marley.

It was one of my most favorite days ever.  A day that stands out because within its normalcy and simplicity, it celebrates a title I coveted for so long...

As I heard this word uttered over and over in it's various forms...repetitive like...I smiled in the wonder that it never ceases to bring me joy.  Yes, it sounded a little like this...
Mom? MOM!
Mommy? Mommy? Mommm-yyyyyyyy!
Momma?  Maaaaaaa Maaaaaaa? Mom, MOMMA?
Mommy? Mom?

(but it is a contented one)

It means I am a mom.
I have two children.
Two sweet girls that are so different yet precious gifts and perfect in every way for ME.
THEIR mom.
They are the only two children that call me that in the whole wide world.
And they are the only two children I can call my daughters.
There is something so profound in that for me.

So I celebrate today the blessing of being a mother. And I know so many of you feel the same way too.
Blessings to you my friends.

Happy Mother's Day!

P.S.  How did you spend YOUR Mother's Day?

  1. happy mothers day my love!
what a Beautiful day you had!

  2. Happy Mother's day... to add to your joy, it is 32 degreesF here, with frost and a chance of snow...we bundled up and had a marvelous Mother's Day! :)

  3. Happy Mother's Day , my sista mutha from anutha. Sorry Jess, I just might be delirious from my day of laying in bed eating banana splits and watching movies. I was like a beached whale. The spectators kept trying to shove me back in the water but I aint going. More Ice Cream!!!!

  4. What a beautiful day you had and such a pretty pic! :) Happy Mother's Day!

  5. So glad to hear (and see!) that you had an awesome Mother's Day. Yes, what a blessing it is to be called Mom. I, too, sometimes stop and think..."Wow, that's right, I - am - a - Mom!" How quickly time passed from when I was a child and wondered what it would be like to be one. God is so good. I need to remember that next time I'm in the bathroom and one at a time they barge in to tattle, ask some random question or throw a ball at me. ;).

    Mommie Blessings,

  6. How fun--it looks wonderful! I actually got a NAP for Mother's Day. Just what I wanted and needed! And, I am feeling very grateful and blessed to be a mom, too.

  7. oh man! Can I please come and visit and you can take me to that very beach and to Frenchy's? And we won't watch calories?

  8. Sounds like my idea of a PERFECT Mother's Day! I {heart} the beach sooooo much!

  9. It is pretty amazing isn't it. I actually still get hit with the profound thought..."I AM THEIR MOM!!! THEIR MOM!!!!" It surprises me all the time! :)

Glad you had a great Mother's day...I am feeling some major beach envy right now. We are thinking we will have to cancel our plans for our summer trip to the Amlabama coast because of th oil. Glad you guys are enjoying the beach though!!! your girls are way too cute!

I love, love, love, comments and I read every one! Please keep in mind that I sometimes moderate each one so it may take a bit before it appears on the post. Thanks my sweet friends!
